Australia Lets PNG off the Hook Despite Condom Distribution Irregularities

Australia is sending more condoms to Papua New Guinea despite admission by PNG’s National AIDS Council Secretariat that it let 2 million condoms expire in a warehouse, Fiji Times Online reports.

“While any wastage of resources is unfortunate, sufficient supplies of condoms are available in PNG,” an AusAID spokesman said.

The national secretariat has also allegedly overspent its budget, allocating money for unnecessary travel and other inappropriate expenses.
