Australia Resumes Aid to Philippine Province

Australia has

of its development projects in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao, Inquirer.net reports. AusAID minister counselor Titon Mitra, however, said the agency will "continue to monitor the security situation" in the province. AusAID projects in Maguindanao were suspended Dec. 6 after Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo placed the province under martial law because of the political violence there.
