Australia Shores Up Humanitarian Aid Effectiveness

The Australian government will release AUD38 million (USD24.8 million) to improve humanitarian aid effectiveness. Of the sum, AUD26 million will be allocated to the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs while the rest will go to the U.N. Central Emergency Response Fund. The funding will improve immediate response to global humanitarian disasters and help guarantee that crisis-hit communities are assisted.
