Australia Unveils New Development Budget

Australia is looking at investing AUD464.3 million (USD356 million) in the next four years, of which AUD38.7 million will be disbursed in 2009-2010, to promote food security in the Asia-Pacific and African regions as well as boost food production worldwide. The government also earmarked AUD454.2 million over four years – AUD11.9 million for 2009-2010 – to back infrastructure projects in the developing world.
