He has served as an expert technical adviser to the World Health Organization on a range of issues including community-based provision of injectibles, hormonal contraception and HIV, and WHO’s Medical Eligibility for Contraceptive Use.

Roy Prosterman is founder and chairman emeritus of Landesa, an NGO that partner with governments to extend land rights to the world's poorest people. With almost half a century of experience on land tenure, he has published several books on land reform and development.
