Ban Ki-moon Names UN Reform Czar

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has picked Assistant Secretary-General Atul Khare to lead the team charged with implementing measures to streamline and enhance the efficiency of the global body’s operations.

The Change Management Team will collaborate with units within the U.N. Secretariat and other U.N. organizations as well as with the world body’s 192 member states to execute the U.N. reform agenda. It will work under the direction of Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro.

CMT “would prove particularly vital as the UN works to strengthen its performance at a time of budgetary constraints and rapid global change,” the U.N. News Center notes, citing Ban.
