Bangladesh Gains Donor Support for Energy Scheme

International donors have approved Bangladesh’s USD9.5 billion investment plan aimed at generating 7,000 megawatts of electricity by 2013, Reuters reports. The donors include the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, U.K. Department for International Development, Islamic Development Bank, and countries such as the United States, France, Germany and Japan, as well as several oil-rich nations.
