The Asian Development Bank is helping Bangladesh improve its railway services with a USD150 million loan.

The funding will help rehabilitate the country’s dilapidated railway sector, Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, secretary of the Ministry of Finance’s Economic Relations Division, told Reuters. It will be used to repair railway tracks and signalling systems, purchase modern locomotives, support railway workshops, and construct bridges and other infrastructure, he added.
