A mainstream Flemish separatist party won in the Belgian elections on June 13, securing 27 of the 150 seats in the lower chamber, Euroobserver reports. The New Flemish Alliance party, according to AP, is expected to push for the recognition of country’s Dutch-speaking Flanders region as a separate country in the European Union.
