Bill Gates says he does not see his foundation focusing on clean energy innovation, which he says is more suited to a capitalistic enterprise, despite his personal involvement in the energy sector.

“The foundation is looking at things that are ignored, that there is no market for and that relate to the poorest,” The Associated Press quotes Bill Gates, who spoke May 10 at a breakfast meeting in Seattle that was focused on climate change and clean energy.

Gates acknowledged that technological advances in the clean energy sector are crucial to efforts against climate change but added that any money he puts into energy “will be done on the private side.”
