Call for applications: Health awards for businesses

An organization serving as a hub for businesses involved in global health issues is calling for entries for its annual health awards.

The GBCHealth2012 Business Action on Health Awards welcomes entries from businesses demonstrating commitment to fighting the most pressing global health challenges to date. These include HIV or AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and noncommunicable diseases like diabetes and cancer. Programs and initiatives should be results-oriented, innovative and have compelling models for action.

Awards categories include workplace engagement, community investment, partnership and collective action, application of core competence, technology for health, and health and beyond: addressing root causes. Winners will receive sponsorship opportunities for additional visibility, among others.

Deadline for applications is on Feb. 8.
