Canada Expands Aid for Haiti Justice Institutions

Canada will provide 10 million Canadian dollars (USD9.6 million) to justice and security institutions in Haiti, Minister of Foreign Affairs Lawrence Cannon said on May 5. This adds to the initial USD15 million donation the country gave to the institutions in 2009.

The new funds are expected to assist the institutions in implementing priority post-earthquake projects, including in the areas of policing, access to justice and border control.
