The African Development Bank intends to disburse USD287 million to back Cape Verde's infrastructure investments in the next three years, the nation's ambassador to Portugal, Arnaldo Andrade, announced. A report by
quoted Andrade as saying that: "The (AfDB's) announcement of a USD287 million programme for the next three years means significant support for Cape Verde in terms of the options made in its development strategy and infrastructure options. This is a good sign because it gives all the partners confidence to continue focusing on the country." Moreover, the United Nations also expressed its readiness to support Cape Verde's development initiatives in the next few years, Petra Lantz, resident coordinator of the U.N. System in Cape Verde, said.
