Chile Relief: A New Phone Donation Drive

The Mobile Giving Foundation is helping various aid organizations acquire funds for their operations in Chile through text donations. The organization allows U.S. mobile phone users to donate for humanitarian relief to the earthquake-ravaged country by texting the word “CHILE” to different numbers depending on which organization a user seeks to help.

Texting the keyword to 20222 donates USD10 to World Vision, while texting to 52000 donates the same amount to the Salvation Army and sending to 85944 sends USD10 to International Medical Corps. The Friends of the World Food Program will receive USD10 if the message is sent to 50555.

Mobile phone users can also text “SAVE” to 20222 to contribute USD10 to Save the Children Foundation. One hundred percent of total donations received will be used for Chile earthquake relief, assured the foundation, which organized a similar text drive in the aftermath of January’s earthquake in Haiti.
