Chilean Leader to Push for Women’s Role in Haiti Recovery

President Michelle Bachelet of Chile flew to Haiti Feb. 20 with a mission to push for women’s participation in rebuilding the earthquake-ravaged nation. Soon to join forces with the United Nations Women’s Fund, Bachelet will likewise discuss with local leaders the prevention of gender-based violence, response to urgent humanitarian needs and actions on early recovery.
