China boosts Nigeria malaria effort

China is helping the Nigerian government curb the spread of malaria through a donation of 429,000 doses of anti-malaria drugs and 100,000 units for injection. China has been active in aiding Nigeria improve its health system since 2002, by providing the country with various medical items such as insecticide treated nets as well as anti-avian and anti-malaria medicines. “The items donated should be distributed free-of-charge to those in need, especially pregnant women, children and malaria patients,” indicated Chinese ambassador Xu Jianguo.
