CIDA: Afghan projects are making an impact

According to three members of the Canadian International Development Agency’s Afghanistan task force, aid projects have been making headway in the turbulent Central Asian country, although so much more remains to be done. “My major message would be sustainable development takes a long time,” said former head of aid for CIDA in Afghanistan, Diana Youdell, who has also reassured the public that Canada is making some considerable strides in uplifting the lives of Afghans. “This is going to take a long time,” observed former Canadian development adviser to the Canadian forces Kevin Rex. “But it’s worth it. We have all seen the change and the positive impact every single day we were there.”
