Nine African countries will benefit from new Canadian International Development Agency-backed initiatives focusing on child health and education. The initiatives, which amount to 178 million Canadian dollars (USD177 million), will cover training for front-line health workers, as well as improvements in health and infrastructure services in the region.“It is very important to support the children and youth and to provide them with opportunities leading to a bright future,” Canadian Minister of International Cooperation Bev Oda said.
