Colombia has no plans of attacking Venezuela, a spokesperson for the Colombian government has clarified. The declaration follows Venezuelan’ President Hugo Chavez’s statement that President Alvaro Uribe of Colombia is “capable of anything,” BBC reports. Chavez’s remarks were, in turn, a reaction to Colombia’s earlier claim that members of Colombian rebel groups were hiding and operating within Venezuela. Chavez has severed ties with Venezuela because of the row.
