Delegates and observers from approximately 200 countries have gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark for the opening day of the United Nations Climate Change Conference Copenhagen 2009, the

reports. U.N. climate chief Yvo de Boer, who spoke during the opening plenary sessions, called on the summit participants to deliver results. Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, delivered a similar message, where he highlighted the need for urgent action.
