Cote d’Ivoire

United Nations peacekeepers in Cote d’Ivoire are being assaulted by supporters of incumbent leader Laurent Gbagbo, Bloomberg reports. The U.N. recorded six attacks against its vehicles, two of which were burned, according to Kenneth Blackman, spokesman for the Ivorian U.N. mission.

The European Union has also frozen the assets of 88 individuals and 11 entities supporting the “illegitimate administration” of Gbagbo. The bloc and the rest of the international community has recognized Alassane Ouattara as the winner of last year’s presidential polls.
