Nigeria can meet the 2015 deadline of the Millennium Development Goals if the country is successfully purged of malaria, Nigerian Health Minister Linus Awute said during a recent Roll Back Malaria meeting in Abuja. Awute explained that malaria has been costing the country a lot of development money because the disease promotes absenteeism among workers, and treatment entails a huge amount of money, the Daily Trust reports.
