Democratic Republic of Congo

UNICEF officials have appealed for a cease in fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo in order to reach children at risk of a sudden epidemic of polio in conflict areas.

“We are calling on all parties to the conflict to respect the vaccination days and cease fighting,” UNICEFrepresentative in DRC Pierrette Vu Thi was quoted by the Guardian as saying. “All children have the same right to health.”
