Development Banks Draft Climate Change Program for Tajikistan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and International Finance Corp. are preparing a grant proposal for a pilot climate resilience program in Tajikistan, Asia Plus reports. The institutions recently concluded their joint mission in the country and are expected to present the proposal to Tajikistan in the coming weeks. The proposal seeks to grant USD1.5 million to help Tajikistan develop ways to incorporate climate risk assessment and resilience measures in its priority development programs. The funds, which will be drawn from the multidonor Climate Investment Funds, will support a variety research and capacity-building efforts.
