DFID Assists Violence Victims in Gaza

The U.K. Department for International Development will release GBP4 million (USD6 million) in humanitarian assistance to war-ravaged Gaza. In a

, U.K. Secretary of State Douglas Alexander said that the funding will help the United Nations Relief and Works Agency provide food, shelter and cash assistance to violence victims as well as additional fuel to maintain the delivery of public services such as water and health care. The sum formed part of the country's USD10 million humanitarian aid commitment for Gaza.
