Donors Back Industrial Park in Haiti

    The U.S., Inter-American Development Bank, International Finance Corp. and Korean garment firm Sae-A Trading Co. will help establish an industrial park and a garment manufacturing operation in Haiti.

    The project is expected to create 10,000 permanent jobs. It will cover the development of basic infrastructure, including ports and roads, as well as access to energy and logistics.

    Meanwhile, the U.S. and France will help rebuild the General University Hospital in Port-au-Prince. The two nations will each provide USD25 million for the project.
