EBRD Backs Upgrade of Ukraine Transport Sector

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to provide up to USD450 million for the modernization of Ukraine’s gas transportation network, EBRD President Thomas Mirow said, according to the Financial. Specifically, the money will be used to complete construction works on the Kyiv-Chop highway. This investment on Ukraine’s transport sector is part of the up to 1.1 billion euros (USD1.7 million) that EBRD is planning to spend for the country in 2010, the Financial notes.
