EBRD Boosts Macedonian SME Development

Small and medium-sized enterprises in Macedonia are expected to benefit from 10 million euros (USD12.3 million) worth of financial package from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The loan was given to local partner bank Ohridska Banka to help diversify its lending portfolio for SMEs.

In particular, loan proceeds are expected to help SMEs improve their health, safety and environmental standards and align these with European Union requirements. The loan will also finance renewable energy investments.
