EBRD Hikes Investments to Counter Crisis

Despite a EUR602 million (USD767 million) net loss in 2008, the

intends to significantly raise its investments in 2009 to EUR7 billion from EUR5.1 billion to help Eastern European economies weather the global economic crisis. The sum includes EUR3 billion for the financial sector, EUR1.5 billion as corporate investments and EUR2.5 billion for infrastructure and energy initiatives.
