EC Supports Infrastructure in Sierra Leone

A 23-million-euro infrastructure project of the European Commission for Sierra Leone is currently in the pipeline, an EC delegation official told Devex.

It will involve construction works on bridges and the Bo-Bandajuma and Makeni-Kabala highways as well as road rehabilitation and risk mitigation in slum areas. These initiatives, estimated to run for five years, will commence in 2010, the official said.

The commission has also recently finalized the financing agreement for institutional support to the Sierra Leone Road Authorities.

According to the official, the EC is also providing assistance in governance reforms and agriculture projects.
