EC to Strengthen Transport and Mobility in the Mediterranean

The European Commission is set to invest about 17 million euros (US$24 million) to improve transportation and mobility in the Mediterranean Sea Basin.

A program manager at the Joint Managing Authority told Devex Early Intelligence that the commission will promote human mobility and strengthen the circulation of goods and capitals in the region.

The commission's funding will be channeled through the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument. It will benefit countries including Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Libya.
