China will lend USD1 billion to support Ecuador’s telecommunications, energy, oil, irrigation, and agriculture projects, according to Ecuadoran authorities.

The Eximbank of China previously provided USD1.7 billion for the construction of a 1,500-megawatt hydroelectric plant in Ecuador, Agence France-Presse reports.

Chinese company CAMC is keen on investing another USD1 billion in silos, grain distribution centers, and irrigation systems in Ecuador, said Rene Ramirez, the country’s planning minister.
