EIB Backs Wind Farms in Vanuatu, Mexico

The European Investment Bank will lend Vanuatu 4.3 million euros (USD5.57 million) to help expand the latter’s first wind farm. The expansion will add 10 more wind turbines to the Devil’s Point wind farm in the island of Efate, which currently operates with 11 turbines, Ecoseed reports.

The bank has also granted a 78.5 million euro loan to help build a wind farm in Oaxaca, Mexico. The loan, which will be managed by Iberdrola Group, will also be spent on the construction of access roads and interconnection with the high-voltage network.
