EIB Invests More in Ukrainian Road Network Rehabilitation

The European Investment Bank has approved a second loan, worth €450 million ($644 million), for efforts to improve Ukraine’s road network.

The project aims to rehabilitate 350 kilometers of five sections of highways branching out from Kiev, the country’s capital. It will receive another €450 million, which will come from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

EIB previously lent €200 million to help upgrade a road linking the Ukrainian capital with Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.
