Estonia has secured the European Union’s backing to adopt the euro. The endorsement signals the likelihood that Estonia will become the 17th member of Europe’s currency union, Associated Press reports. The Baltic nation still needs the approval of the E.U. finance ministers, who will establish the exchange rate for swapping kroons for euros.
