EU commits funding for Tanzanian road

The European Commission announced it will extend EUR30 million ($37.5 million) to finance the completion of a Tanzanian road. The commission expects the project to improve trade links between Tanzania’s chief port Dar es Salaam and the city of Mwanza. Since 2002, the body has allocated EUR170 million ($212.8 million) to the country’s road program, which it said “is part of a wider strategy to build infrastructure links that connect countries throughout Africa.”
