EU Earmarks Aid for Disaster Preparedness, Drought Victims

The European Commission provided 5 million euros ($7 million) to help draft the seventh

action plan in the Caribbean. The commission has so far allocated more than 152 million euros for disaster preparedness since 1996. Meanwhile,

in the occupied Palestinian territory and Syria will benefit from some 6 million euros in food assistance from the commission. The sum will be administered by non-governmental and international organizations including United Nations agencies.
