EU Helps Rebuild Schools in Azad Kashmir

The European Commission granted EUR11.95 million (USD14.9 million) to help rehabilitate 300 earthquake-damaged middle schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The program aims to provide school furniture and water supply and sanitation facilities as well as conduct training for teachers and school management committees. The latest grant, to be administered by the Asian Development Bank, is the second tranche of some EUR30 million allotted for the said initiative.
