EU Increases Aid for Japan Relief, Recovery Efforts

The European Commission is boosting its response to humanitarian needs in Japan with an additional €10 million, bringing its total contribution to relief and recovery efforts in the Asian country to €15 million.

The new funding will be used to help more than 30,000 earthquake and tsunami survivors living in temporary shelters. It will be coursed through the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
