EU to Support Environmental and Energy Initiatives in Hungary

A senior official at the Hungarian National Development Agency disclosed to the Devex Early Intelligence team that the European Commission will continue to support the environment and energy sectors in Hungary up to 2013.

Various projects will be funded in the areas of water resource management; natural assets management; renewable and efficient energy use; sustainable urban development; and eco-friendly settlements.

These efforts are part of the 22.8 billion euro (US$33.4 billion) New Hungary development plan for the years 2007-2013. The plan aims to sustain long-term growth and scale up employment opportunities.
