European Commission Announces Fresh Humanitarian Aid

The European Commission's humanitarian aid department has earmarked new funding for

. It will provide 7 million euros (USD10 million) to help typhoon victims in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and nearly 7.3 million euros to help Central Asian countries prepare for natural disasters. The commission also plans to increase support for activities that help address the health and water needs of Zimbabweans. The additional 5 million euros will bring the agency's total commitment to 13 million euros for the program.
