Expert Says UN Sanitation, Water Figures ‘Baloney’

The United Nations’ figures showing that the world is on track to the meet the Millennium Development Goals on water and sanitation are “baloney,” a water expert based in the U.K. said, according to the Guardian. Asit Biswas also predicts that more people will not have access to water and sanitation facilities in 2015 than when the MDGs were first adopted in 2000.

“They are not only underestimating the problem, they are giving the impression the problem is being solved. What I’m trying to say is that’s a bunch of baloney,” Biswas, the president of the Third World Center for Water Management, told the Guardian.
