Kuwait will host the first donors conference for east Sudan next month.
The conference will explore development projects valued at USD4.2 billion, said Mustafa Ismail, head of the organizing committee. The projects will target infrastructure, energy, water and agriculture, Ismail said in a statement released by the organizers.
The state-run Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development is organizing the meeting, slated for Dec. 1-2. Representatives of more than 50 countries as well as aid agencies, including the United Nations Development Program, World Bank and Islamic Development Bank, will attend the gathering, Agence France-Presse reports.
