Inadequate funding has hindered the execution of a fertilizer procurement scheme in Africa. The funding shortfall amounts to USD2.3 million, according to Business Daily

“It’s been three years now and there isn’t much commitment from the governments in terms of financial contribution to set the ball rolling,” said African Development Bank director Aly Abou-Sabaa in a session at an AfDB conference in Abijan.

The African Development Bank is the host bank for the African Fertilizer Financing Mechanism, which aims to ensure cheap fertilizer supplies for farmers.
