Gates Foundation Selects New Grand Challenges Exploration Grantees

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has chosen 88 out of more than 2,500 proposals from the around world that were submitted for the sixth funding round of its Grand Challenges Exploration program. The initiative seeks innovative solutions to global health and development challenges.

The winners include researchers, computer and electronic engineers, and entrepreneurs. They will each get $100,000.  

The foundation is accepting proposals for the initiative’s seventh funding round through May 19.
