Gates Foundation Welcomes New Water Director

Frank Rijsberman will join the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Development Program as head of its water, sanitation and hygiene initiative starting Oct. 11, 2010.

Rijsberman is a program director for the charity arm of Google, focusing primarily on public health grant making, according to a Gates Foundation news release. He also served as director general of the International Water Management Institute, a research organization on water, environment and food.
