Anti-corruption campaigners celebrated a significant breakthrough this week when the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announces it has blacklisted Lahmeyer, a German engineering consultancy found guilty of bribery on a World Bank project in Lesotho. It is the first time a multilateral development bank has “cross-debarred” a company based on evidence of fraud relating to a project financed by one of the other development banks. (FT)
