Germany, Canada assure aid for Philippine SMEs

Both Canada and Germany promised to help small and medium enterprises in the Philippines. The Canadian International Development Agency is running a project called Private Enterprise Accelerated Resource Linkages Phase II (Pearl2), which has provided support to over 30 business support organizations and trade associations in the country. GTZ, meanwhile, has sponsored the Small and Medium Enterprise Development for Sustainable Development Program. “Donor integration and better coordination have long been in the international agenda. We are positive that this agreement will help fasttrack the outputs we intend out of the programs that the German government has developed for SMEs in the Philippines,” remarked First Secretary Rolf Saligmann of the German embassy.
