Germany, Gates Foundation Partner to Boost Global Vaccination Drive

As part of a deal with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Germany is providing €14 million ($19.9 million) to vaccination programs of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, on top of its regular contribution to GAVI.

The Gates Foundation will in turn match Germany’s donation and any future contributions the country makes in the next two years, The Canadian Press reports.

Germany’s regular contribution to GAVI amounts to €6 million per year.
