Ghana Seeks IMF Funding

Ghana is negotiating with the International Monetary Fund over a three-year financing of at least USD1 billion. Of the sum,

reported, USD600 million is earmarked for the government's macroeconomic adjustment initiative. Another portion of the loan, worth USD420 million, represents an increase in the nation's special drawing rights from the fund.
